Executive Director
The Rev. Linda Jaramillo served for 10 years as Executive Minister of Justice and Witness Ministries in the national headquarters of the United Church of Christ in Cleveland, Ohio where she oversaw the church’s work on human rights, racial, environmental, economic, and gender justice in the U.S. and around the world. A consistent emphasis of Linda’s leadership was coordinating justice work with local churches, conferences, and the national setting. Linda is now an independent management and leadership consultant, utilizing her skills, professional education, and 40 years of experience to support religious and non-religious non-profit organizations.
Linda earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Portland State University and a Master of Divinity degree from Pacific School of Religion in Berkeley, CA. She was ordained to Christian Ministry by the Central Pacific Conference of the United Church of Christ in 2005. Linda is the proud mother of two and grandmother of five beautiful and brilliant grandchildren!

Roger Carlson is an ordained United Methodist minister, currently in retired status as a pastoral counselor. He was a professor of psychology for thirty-six years and a United Methodist parish pastor in Oregon for twenty years. He has also been in private practice as a psychologist for twenty-six years.
Rev. Carlson is board certified in sex therapy and hypnotherapy and licensed in four states. He has also served on the Oregon Board of Psychologist Examiners, as well as with the national Association for State and Provincial Psychology Boards and the United Methodist Endorsing Agency.

In addition, In addition to 30 years of local church ministry, Wim trained as a Clinical Pastoral Education Supervisor and spent 11 years as a community organizer for the Industrial Areas Foundation. In each of these professional settings, he has focused on leadership and vocational development. He works within his denomination with predominantly European descent congregations around issues of racism and white privilege as well as within his community on issues of homelessness and affordable housing. He and his wife live in the greater Seattle area and his two grown daughters contribute significantly to agroforestry in East Africa and affordable housing in King County.

She brings a wealth of expereince to conversations with clergy and laypeople as they seek to discern God's calling into professional or non-ordained ministry. Dr. Stearns has a first-hand experience and knowledge with clergy couple issues as her husband is also an ordained pastor. Lily was born in Myanmar (Burma). She identifies herself as tri-cultural and tri-lingual. In addition to English, she also speaks Mandarin-Chinese and Burmese. Lily and her husband are parents of three young adult children and two maltese puppies. Most recently she served as the Executive Director of the Asian Community Mental Health Services in Oakland, CA for three years.

John P. Sullivan, MDiv, PsyD, Provider

Dr. Sullivan has worked with Center for Ministry clients since 1999. He received his bachelor’s degree in psychology and theology from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles in 1983, and the Master of Divinity degree in 1987 from Weston Jesuit School of Theology in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He was certified by the National Association of Catholic Chaplains and worked as a hospital chaplain in California and Massachusetts. In 1997 he completed the Doctor of Psychology degree in clinical psychology from California School of Professional Psychology, San Francisco Bay campus. He completed two years of advanced training in the integration of psychotherapy and spirituality at The Danielsen Institute at Boston University. He was a founding member of the Center for Integrative Medicine at O’Connor Hospital in San Jose. For seventeen years Dr. Sullivan served clients in Spanish and English as a staff psychologist at Catholic Charities of Santa Clara County where he developed a psychology internship training program and supervised doctoral interns. He maintains a private practice in Santa Clara. Some of John’s areas of interest and expertise include the integration of spiritual development and mental health, vocational and career development, addiction and co-dependency recovery, cultural diversity, LGBT issues, immigration-related issues, adoption, parenting, and couples’ counseling. A native of San Jose, John is married and a father of twin sons.

Adelina Cano is the administrator of The Center for Ministry in the West. Adelina Cano served as the Director of Operations for Centro Cultural of Washington County in Oregon. As a Director, she was part of the Finance and Management Teams that ensured adequate resources, removed barriers, and brought wellness to community members of various ethnic and racial backgrounds -- with an emphasis toward the Latino community. Adelina was promoted to Director of Operations after having served there as Office Manager and Executive Assistance. Throughout her professional career, Adelina has built a variety of skills and gained experiences that have helped her reach important milestones. Such milestones include a welcoming customer services system, troubleshooting daily issues, fiscal resourcefulness, and expanding her leadership and managerial skills.
